Overview
The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) Building is an iconic Art Deco skyscraper located at 141 West Jackson Boulevard in Chicago, Illinois. Completed in 1930, it stands 44 stories tall and was the tallest building in Chicago until 1965. Designed by the architectural firm Holabird & Root, the building is renowned for its striking Art Deco design, including a three-story aluminum statue of Ceres, the Roman goddess of agriculture, which crowns its peak.
The CBOT Building has served as a hub for financial and commodity trading, housing the Chicago Board of Trade and later the CME Group. It features large trading floors, intricate stone carvings, and sculptures that reflect its historical significance in the world of commerce.
